Casual throwing is $25 per hour per person and includes a lane, axes, and a coach. Members can also use mobile axe throwing for private parties and events.

League membership at Moss & Hatchet is built for throwers in Beaufort who want more than a casual visit. Joining the league puts you on the lanes during dedicated league nights, where you can practice alongside a rotating group of participants and test your skills in a relaxed but structured setting. The atmosphere stays welcoming, yet the format mirrors the kind of organized competition that serious throwers recognize from league play elsewhere.

A membership bundles several practical extras into one simple monthly commitment, and the value shows up quickly for anyone who throws regularly. Included time gives you a set block each week to get on the lane, which removes the friction of planning a separate visit. Members also borrow premium equipment rather than buying it, and the rental allowance means you can try different axes without worrying about wear, upkeep, or the cost of replacing a well-used handle.

Membership also opens the door to reduced entry for local tournaments and events, so competing beyond league night becomes more accessible. Many members treat the weekly session as a training habit, using it to refine consistency, form, and confidence before stepping into larger competitions. Coach-led feedback during open throwing helps newer participants learn the fundamentals, while more experienced throwers can work on advanced techniques and share tips with the group.

Because Moss & Hatchet is an affiliate of both the World Axe Throwing League and the World Knife Throwing League, league play connects directly to a wider competitive circuit. Throwing under that framework means the habits you build in Beaufort carry over to regional and national events, where the same rules and standards apply. For visitors from nearby coastal and southern communities, the venue serves as an accessible training ground before traveling to larger competitions.

Getting started is straightforward, and the venue supports a wide range of schedules, including extra throwing time outside of league sessions for members who want to keep practicing on their own terms. Closed-toe shoes are required, and the space is designed to accommodate both first-timers and regulars with food and drink options nearby. Whether you are curious about casual throwing or chasing competitive standing, the membership path offers a flexible way in.

Before Your First Throw
