Moss & Hatchet is an indoor axe throwing experience in Beaufort, South Carolina, built around two things: casual throwing for friends and groups looking for a fun night out, and world-class league competition for people who want to compete seriously. As an affiliate of the World Axe Throwing League, the venue serves both purposes in the same space, welcoming first-time throwers and seasoned competitors side by side along its indoor lanes.
Every session includes hands-on coaching, so a coach helps new throwers build safe technique and reach their potential while more experienced players refine their form. Guests are provided axes and everything needed for the hour, meaning no one needs prior experience or personal equipment to get started. Closed-toe shoes are required for safety in the throwing area.
Beyond open throwing, Moss & Hatchet hosts league nights and tournaments, including local and regional competitions where members can train, practice, and work toward championship-level play. Membership options bundle monthly practice opportunities together with regular league participation, giving dedicated throwers a consistent schedule to develop and compete within a community that shares the same competitive goals.
The space is designed for a comfortable, social atmosphere, with food and drink options such as beer, mead, soda, and water available while guests throw. A decorative honeycomb pattern, dark green banner bands, and bold condensed uppercase headings give the venue its sports-team-branded identity, and a gallery of photos captures the throwing action. Booking a lane, joining a league night, or entering a tournament is simple and straightforward.
